There are only a good 1.5 weeks remaining until our baby girl's due date! Needless to say we are beyond excited... and not just Konrad and me.
Last week my mother-in-law hosted a baby shower for us and our baby girl.
It was so wonderful to have my sister here from Kelowna (8 hours west from Calgary) for the shower and also my sister-in-law with her boyfriend came all the way from Saskatoon (7 hours east from us). We were also so blessed to have a great bunch of family and friends from Calgary round up.
It truly is a baby year in our circle. One of Konrad's friends and his wife added a baby boy to their family just one month ago and another friend's wife is due just 6 weeks after me. His cousin who attended the baby shower high pregnant (5 days overdue at the time) had a baby girl just earlier this week!
It was almost overwhelming seeing all the gifts they were showering us and baby girl with. So many adorable, pink and very useful items that we now don't have to purchase ourselves.
I have to give a special shout out to Konrad's cousin who sewed this gorgeous quilt and other blankets, receiving blankets and cloths for us. We are so lucky to be the recipients of her talented creations.
Konrad also got a basket full of items to help him transition into fatherhood:
- coffee(!) to survive sleep deprivation
- surgical masks and gloves, a nose clip and goggles to survive diaper changes
And if all this isn't enough, we can always hang the "Help Wanted" sign in our window 😀
Of course there also was great food and snacks, which I unfortunately didn't get a picture of. But I am happy I can at least show you these cute cupcakes my sister-in-law ordered. Soo adorable!
After food and presents everyone was up for a little fun. So to the amusement of everyone in attendance we had to play a little game as well. You might know it from weddings. Raise the shoe of who is more likely to .... (fill in the blank).
... innocently pass off the baby to the other parent knowing it needs a diaper change? Yeah - that one was kind of obvious.
And flip flops and boots? Yup, this is how we roll 😉
A HUGE thank you to everyone for organizing, attending and making it such a special evening for us. We are so blessed to have you help us transition into parenthood and anticipate the arrival of our little girl with as much excitement as us.

Oh you are glowing with joy in these photos! I love all things Sesame Street and may have to battle your little girl for that quilt. 🙂 I wish you a safe and joyous delivery, Regina. xx

Thank you so much Jacquee. Your well wishes definitely helped 😉 from the timestamp I gather you commented less than 2 hours before Olivia was born 😀
