Ingredients

  • 1 - 1.5 cups citrus fruit oranges, tangerines, mandarines...
  • 1/2 large carrot cut into spears for easier blending
  • 1/2 frozen banana optional - for sweetness and creaminess
  • juice of 1/2 key lime
  • small piece of fresh ginger
  • 1/8 - 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric to taste
  • honey for sweetness to taste
  • 1/2 - 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Add the citrus fruit, carrot spears, optional frozen banana, lime juice, ginger, turmeric and honey to a blender.
  2. Add water (start with 1/2 cup and add more as needed to keep the blender going) and blend until smooth. Because of the carrot, this may take a little longer than other smoothies.
  3. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if desired. If you can handle it, you may also want to increase the amount of turmeric.
