Learn how to make peanut butter in your food processor or high speed blender. It takes just 2 ingredients and almost no time for all natural peanut butter.
If using unroasted peanuts, spread them out on a baking sheet and roast in your oven for about 10 minutes at 350°F. Stir the peanuts or shake the baking sheet half-way through. The peanuts are done when they look golden brown and they smell fragrant. Let the roasted peanuts cool down before continuing.
Food Processor Instructions: Add the roasted peanuts to the food processor bowl. Close the lid and turn on the food processor.
The peanuts will start to break down, turning first into a powder, than clumping into a big ball, before breaking down into smooth and creamy peanut butter.
The whole process takes only about 5 minutes. Stop and scrape down the sides as necessary.
Vitamix Peanut Butter: Making peanut butter in the Vitamix works best when using the tamper
Add the peanuts to the Vitamix blender jar. Close the lid and add the tamper.
Start with the lowest speed setting and incrementally work your way up to higher speeds. While blending use the tamper to push the peanuts down towards the blades.
It only takes 1-2 minutes to achieve a smooth peanut butter consistency.
Blendtec Peanut Butter: works best when using the Blendtec twister jar
Add the roasted peanuts to the Blendtec twister jar and add the twister lid.
First blend on lower, than on higher speeds all the while turning the twister lid in counterclockwise direction. This will take care of scraping the sides of the jar and moving the peanuts towards the blades.
The peanut butter will be ready in just a few minutes. If the blender gets too warm, take breaks in between.
Pour the smooth peanut butter into a jar and add sea salt to taste. Stir in chopped peanuts for crunchy peanut butter.
The freshly made, warm peanut butter will be quite liquid. Store it in the fride for a few hours to get it to a spreadable, creamy consistency.
