This coconut flour pizza crust is a gluten-free combination of oat flour, coconut flour, water, and salt. Similar to the traditional wheat-based pizza dough, it is perfect as a base for tomatoes sauce, cheese, and your favourite pizza toppings.
In a bowl whisk together oat flour, coconut flour, and sea salt. Now add the warm water and combine until everything comes together in a dough ball.
Let rest the dough for at least 5 minutes.
Heat a large 12" pan or skillet on medium heat and drizzle with a little olive oil to cover the surface. (You can also make 2 smaller 8" pizzas).*
Place the dough in the center of the pan and, using your fingers, spread it evenly to the sides.
Cover the pizza base with tomato sauce, (vegan) cheese and your favorite toppings.
Cook the coconut flour pizza over a medium heat for 10-15 mins or until the base and edges are golden. If needed, cover with a lid at the end to melt the cheese.
Enjoy your pizza hot straight from the pan.
Notes
* alternatively, you can also bake this coconut flour pizza. Roll out the crust (about ¼ inch), add toppings and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until crust is golden brown on bottom.
