A cross between mango frozen yogurt and mango lassi, this easy Mango Sorbet Recipe is fruity and wonderfully refreshing! Similar to mango lassi, it includes yogurt and a hint of spice in the form of cardamom and cinnamon. Scoops of this sorbet are perfect to serve after a homemade curry dinner as it is sweet and tangy.
This mango sorbet recipe is a cross between my Mango Lassi recipe and my Mango Frozen Yogurt. All it requires is frozen mango, thick Greek yogurt, and a pinch of cardamom or warming cinnamon, which are blended into a creamy mixture.
The combination of real ingredients makes this a healthy dessert but its creaminess makes it feel indulgent. If you love the taste of mango and the idea of a lightly spiced dessert, this sorbet recipe will be for you.

- Add the frozen mango chunks to a food processor or high speed blender along with the Greek yogurt and a pinch of cardamom or cinnamon.

Variations
The beauty of frozen fruit sorbets is that you can change them up easily. You can even modify how you serve them. Here are some ideas for how you can modify this mango sorbet recipe:
- Change the Garnishes - If you would like to amp up the appearance of this dessert, you could garnish it with fresh diced mango, sliced mint, toasted coconut chips, a pinch of saffron, and/or chopped pistachios.
- Make a Strawberry Lassi Sorbet - If you have frozen strawberries on hand, you could replace all or part of the mango with them. This would make the sorbet a beautiful bright pink.
- Make Sorbet Sandwiches - Rather than serving the sorbet in bowls, consider scooping it between two cookies to make a sandwich. Any of your favourite cookies would work well such as white chocolate macadamia nut, chocolate chip, or oatmeal, but consider using stroopwafels which have a syrupy filling as well.
- Make a Tropical Fruit Sorbet - Rather than using just mango, you can add some frozen pineapple, papaya, and banana to the blender in addition to the mango pieces. For added tropical taste, you could add some lime juice or lime peel to the sorbet mixture as well. This mixture will change both the colour and flavour of the sorbet but it will be just as delicious.
Storage
To store the mango sorbet, you can keep it in the freezer in the silicone molds until you are ready to serve it. Alternatively, feel free to place it in a covered freezer-safe container such as a loaf pan or baking dish in the freezer, where it will keep for a few months. I recommend that you eat the sorbet within two to three months for the best flavour. If the mango sorbet is quite firm coming out of the freezer, you can allow it to sit to soften on a counter before scooping it into bowls.
Top tip
For the best flavour, rather than using store-bought frozen mango, find the ripest mango you can find, chop it up, and freeze it in freezer bags to have on hand to make this recipe.
